Mint a T-64BV-nél már tapasztalhattátok a fejlesztési módosításként ERA páncélzatot tudtok kikutatni a kedvenc harckocsitokra, most az 1.83 frissítéssel ez a lehetőség a T-80 harckocsinál is megvalósul.

Az 1960-as évek elején a Szovjetunió sikeres teszteket végzett a reaktív páncélzatokkal és az 1980-as évek elején egy egységesített reaktív páncél készlettel a Kontakt-al kész volt arra, hogy növelje a jelenlegi és az új harckocsi állomány védelmét. Az új ERA konfiguráció sikeres alkalmazását biztosító harckocsik közé tartozott a T-64B (1984) harckocsi, amelyet később korszerűsítettek és új jelölést kapott: a T-64BV. Ebbe a körbe került be a T-80 harckocsi is, ahol szintén elengedhetetlen volt a kor színvonalára történő védelmi képesség fejlesztés.
A T-80 egy szovjet harckocsi, amelyet az 1970-es évek közepén fejlesztettek ki, és az első gázturbinás harckocsi volt a világon, amelyet több üzemanyaggal működő gázturbina hajt. A T-80B elérhető a szovjet szárazföldi erők VI. rangjában! A “Cobra” irányított páncéltörő rakétával tuningolt és további 30 mm-es páncélozással megerősített T-80B egy nagyon mobilis harckocsi, 125 mm-es, simacsövű ágyúval és kompozit páncélzattal. A T-80B kétféle APFSDS lövedéket kap, amelyek képesek a 470 mm-es homogén páncélzaton is áthatolni. Ezenkívül fel lehet tölteni a lőszer tárolóját repeszromboló (HE), kumulatív (HEAT) és irányított páncéltörő rakétával (ATMG) is. A mindent csatát eldönteni képes T-80B a War Thunder 1.81-es frissítésében érkezett! A most hozzáadott Kontakt-1 védelem lehetővé teszi, hogy a jármű a 850-900 mm-es átütési képességű kumulatív lövedékeknek is ellen álljon. Az érkező 1.83 frissítésben ezt már élvezni is tudjátok!
